Houston Dynamo’s home and away record is vastly different

During the 2016 season of the MLS, Houston Dynamo finished in the very last position of the Western Conference with 34 points collected from 34 matches.

They only managed to secure 7 triumphs and 14 draws while losing 13 games.

In this latest 2017 edition of the MLS, Houston Dynamo are doing a clearly better job as the team is currently positioned in 2nd place with 20 points from the 13 opening games that they have played so far.

Despite doing such a significantly better time, there is something that has troubled the head coach Wilmer Cabrera and it’s the fact that his team have dominated the majority of their home matches but struggled when it comes to away games.

Out of the 6 away games of this 2017 MLS season of Houston Dynamo, they have lost 5 of those games and drawn the other remaining encounter but when it comes to the home matches, it’s a totally different story with 6 victories and 1 draw from their 7 opening games that they have played in their home turf at the BBVA Compass Stadium.

Adolph DeLaGarza has been performing with Houston Dynamo since January of 2017 and when the 29 year old American defender was asked about why they have been underperforming so much in their away games, he simply did not know why it’s been happening as he said: Continue reading “Houston Dynamo’s home and away record is vastly different”

Marc Burch says Minnesota United Already Showing Defensive Improvements

Minnesota United had a horror debut to the MLS after conceding 11 goals in the opening two matches.

Since then, the team’s defence has improved substantially, although they have still conceded four goals in the last two matches. A 2-0 loss against FC Dallas at the Toyota stadium might seem like yet another disappointing result, but the team can take a lot of positives from the match. After the game, defender Marc Burch claimed that Minnesota United could have prevented the two goals that the club conceded today. Such has been the improvement over the last couple of matches.

After recently being brought in from Colorado Rapids, Sam Cronin and Marc Burch may turn out to be key players for the club. It is only after their arrival that the club’s defensive form has been looking up. Javier Morales opened the scoring for Dallas in the 43rd minute before FC Dallas capitalised on the disappointing concentration levels of Minnesota United to score just four minutes into the second half through Michael Barrios. Youngsters are at the frontlines of FC Dallas

Oscar Parejo is doing an impressive job in charge of FC Dallas as he has constructed a young squad that has been able to do a number of impressive feats including winning the U.S. Open Cup and snatching the top spots of the Western Conference as FC Dallas is the only club that is competing against Colorado Rapids for the 1rst spot of the MLS.

The average age in the squad of Oscar Parejo is 26 years which means that he has a fairly young team that have been able to collect points and secure positive results against just about every other team in the league.

FC Dallas has one of the most developed youth academy programs in the MLS and it has been giving them positive effects as there are a consistent amount of rising stars that are able to snatch a spot in the first team instead of being offloaded on loan deals to other clubs.

What clubs usually do to their young players is offload them to other squads where they have a better chance of getting time in the first team but FC Dallas take the risk of giving their youngsters time on the playing grounds and it has been obviously paying off. Frank Lampard failed to impress in the MLS

Despite having a great career in the Premier League with Chelsea where he managed to win 3 Premier League titles, Frank Lampard has failed to impress in the MLS where he is even considered as the worst signing ever to play for New York City FC.

Some pundits have argued that the best thing he could do for City is to leave the club and to free the Designated Player slot so that the team can be able to sign a player that could really contribute to the club. Indeed, Frank Lampard has failed to make any telling contribution to the club given that he has most of the time been injured. And when he has been to play he has more often than not look to be out of form.

Frank Lampard has yet to make an appearance this season and the New York City FC coach; Patrick Viera seems not to be aware when he will make his return to the club.

Some people argue that City does not really need Frank Lampard at the club given that they currently have a host of midfielders at their disposal, and they will be better off recruiting another quality striker. Indeed, they have often seemed to rely on David Villa and having a quality striker will provide some respite to the veteran Spain forward. Continue reading “Frank Lampard failed to impress in the MLS”
