Toronto FC maintained their position near the top of the table after a thrilling 4-4 draw with New York City.

The match witnessed the best of Italian striker Sebastian Giovinco, who came up with a hat-trick in the space of 10 minutes. The goals from the former Juventus man came just after New York City had taken a two-goal advantage in the game. David Villa was one of the scorers for the newly formed MLS franchise. However, a brilliant comeback from Giovinco was only spoiled by the late equaliser from Mullins. Despite this, Greg Vanney says that he is extremely happy to have witnessed such an exciting game of football.

It was a rollercoaster ride throughout the 90 minutes. Even though there is disappointment within Toronto not to have taken all three points after having come very close towards doing so, they will be extremely happy with an away point. This keeps them going, although New York Red Bulls have extended their advantage by one more point after the win over New England Revolution.
