During the 2016 season of the MLS, Houston Dynamo finished in the very last position of the Western Conference with 34 points collected from 34 matches.
They only managed to secure 7 triumphs and 14 draws while losing 13 games.
In this latest 2017 edition of the MLS, Houston Dynamo are doing a clearly better job as the team is currently positioned in 2nd place with 20 points from the 13 opening games that they have played so far.
Despite doing such a significantly better time, there is something that has troubled the head coach Wilmer Cabrera and it’s the fact that his team have dominated the majority of their home matches but struggled when it comes to away games.
Out of the 6 away games of this 2017 MLS season of Houston Dynamo, they have lost 5 of those games and drawn the other remaining encounter but when it comes to the home matches, it’s a totally different story with 6 victories and 1 draw from their 7 opening games that they have played in their home turf at the BBVA Compass Stadium.
Adolph DeLaGarza has been performing with Houston Dynamo since January of 2017 and when the 29 year old American defender was asked about why they have been underperforming so much in their away games, he simply did not know why it’s been happening as he said:
‘’I don’t know, we’re trying to figure that out. We know we have a group that can win games at home, but we have to be able to do that on the road. We haven’t so far”
Even the head coach himself Wilmer Cabrera is not certain about why this is happening as Cabrera simply said that his squad has not been defending properly when it comes to performing away from their home stadium but that they are hoping to improve as the season goes on.
