Vancouver Whitecaps were left disappointed after they failed to get three points against LA Galaxy on Sunday.
After having made a disappointing start to the campaign with two back-to-back losses, it looked like Vancouver were on the right road after winning their last two matches. However, this draw leaves them on the verge of being overtaken by teams like San Jose Earthquakes into the final play-off place. Even though it is still early days in the campaign, keeping in touch with the leaders will be vitally important for the team. There will be consolation that Vancouver managed to draw this match despite being down to 10 men for much of the encounter.
Matias Laba received a red card in the 28th minute while the team was already without captain Pedro Morales following a first half injury. Winger KekutaManneh also had to be taken off from the game due to an injury. Vancouver then produced a solid defensive display in order to keep out the opposition at bay. They, at times, relied on the home support in order to stay in the match. Carl Robinson claimed after the game that he had mixed emotions about the result. He was happy with the way his team recovered from the first half setbacks to draw the match, but he was happy with how they lost their home advantage.
