RAPIDS DRAW

Colorado Rapids, who have had an impressive start to the new season, could only manage a 1-1 draw with Houston Dynamo in the latest league match. This left manager Oscar Pareja extremely disappointed, as he felt that his team deserved all three points from the match. Colorado had a lot of chances over the course of the 90 min, but they were unable to convert them. They have taken the lead just before half-time through goal from Moor. However, Houston Dynamo equalised in the second half through Barnes in the 66th minute.

Even when Houston were reduced to 10 men in the 90th minute after a red card to Davies, it looked like Colorado would take three points because they had numerous chances. However, the match finished as a draw and Colorado had to settle for a point. Pareja said after the match that a point from this encounter was not too bad considering that Houston Dynamo have been extremely strong in recent weeks. As a result of this draw, Colorado maintain their place near the play-offs. They will be taking on San Jose earthquakes in the next match, as the team looks to return to winning ways.

“We could’ve gotten three points. With the amount of chances that we had and the quality of the game, for sure we deserved three points. We played against a very good team. The Dynamo is strong at home, and I thought we had a very good performance. The guys showed a lot of personality and it was really good to see that,” said Pareja. Houston Dynamo have not been defeated at home for the last 36 matches. Considering these aspects, a point from the match is not too bad.

Colorado came into the match on the back of a defeat against Seattle Sounders.
