NYRB SIGN CASTILLO ON SHORT-TERM DEAL

MLS football giants New York Red Bulls (NYRB) have signed New York Red Bulls II defender Juan Castillo ahead of the MLS football clash with Charlotte FC this weekend.


New York Red Bulls have signed young defender Castillo to a short-term loan deal in time for him to feature against Charlotte FC. Hosts Charlotte are at home to New York Red Bulls in the MLS football match scheduled to take place on Saturday.

19-year-old Castillo has been at New York Red Bulls II since the start of last season. The young defender is in his second season at New York Red Bulls II. Also, he has worn the captain’s armband on several occasions for New York Red Bulls II this season. Castillo has played 42 times for New York Red Bulls II in the USL Championship over the course of the last two seasons including the current season. He has an attacking return of three assists in the colours of New York Red Bulls II in the last two seasons. He had the joint third most assist in the New York Red Bulls II team last season.

On the back of the away game against Charlotte FC on the MLS football scene, New York Red Bulls will return home for their next two games in the same competition. The next game after the Charlotte FC clash is at home to Toronto FC on Saturday, June 18.

New York Red Bulls are presently in the top four places on theEastern Conference standings and they could move into the top two if they are able to pick up the three points at the expense of Charlotte FC. New York Red Bulls have won their last two games in all competitions including the 4-1 win at home to D.C. United at the end of last month.
